Clinical Application:
It is a fixed expander bonded with bands for rapid expansion of the midpalatal suture. Without palatal base plate, it is easier to clean. Hooks can be designed on the buccal side for facemask traction. It can rapidly open the midpalatal suture. Due to heavy orthopedic force, ordinary expansion screws may back off. Imported self-locking expansion screws are recommended to avoid screw backsliding.
Notes:
Adjust as instructed by the doctor.
Over-rapid adjustment may damage periodontal ligament or tooth roots. Rapid expansion is prohibited for children under 6 years old to prevent nasal collapse.
Brush with toothpaste morning and night. Floss and water flosser are recommended to maintain oral hygiene.
