W-Spring Expander
Clinical Application:
The appliance uses the elastic force of steel wire for arch expansion, available in fixed bonded type and removable type. Activation of the W-spring is completed extraorally. According to clinical demands, gentle outward force can be applied on the palatal arch and curved loops. The force distribution on different sections of the dental arch can be adjusted properly while keeping balanced force. Activation is carried out once a month.
Notes:
Arch expansion shall proceed steadily at a rate of 2 mm per month until the target width is achieved.
Brush with toothpaste morning and night. Floss and water flosser are recommended to maintain oral hygiene.
