Pendulum Molar Distalization Appliance
Clinical Application:
An appliance for distalizing molars. Mini-screws can be applied to reinforce anchorage as needed. The pendulum spring can be fabricated from stainless steel wire or Titanium-Molybdenum Alloy Wire.
Notes:
- Activate about every 3 weeks by adjusting the pendulum spring to push molars distally, avoid tenderness. For pendulum springs made of Titanium-Molybdenum Alloy Wire, adjust extraorally before placement to achieve approximately 4 mm distal displacement of the free end.
- Maxillary model with complete dentition and clear palatal anatomy is required.
